Cupcake and Strawberry beads as promised!!!

I was gutted because when I had taken my super amazing new camera to take photos over the last couple of days one of my friends had shown me how to do a few things with it that I had no idea... I think he kinda knows what he was doing... and he set it all to Manual... Focus... White Balance etc... EVERYTHING!!! and I came to taking some photos of these beadies and the camera just wouldn't focus at all... :-s SO I email the support at Nikon in Europe... and they got back to me within an hour... and now its all fixed and back to being easy to use :-) YAY!!! At the mo I have 3 beads in my kiln... one turtle (hoping its going to be ok... it was quite big and it cracked a little... I fused it back together so fingers crossed!!!) a bee and a flower... I'm enjoying this sculpting stuff :-)

What I've been up to...

Right, well where do I start.. I've been a little quiet really on every front... I have been off work for a week with a pretty bad back.... and as a waitress ... having a bad back pretty much rights you off!!! I went back today did a 5 hour shift and its was ok... just can't afford to have any more time off!!! I'm saving up for a kiln, I'm taking this bead making very seriously cuz I enjoy it so so so so much, and I seem to be getting some where with it... So I tried to use my time off work wisely. I have set up a website for my beads which you can check out here. I have also set up an Etsy Store for my beads which you can view here. If you would like to see up to date pictures of what I have been making also you can look here at my flickr album. I spent two day "practicing" making straight lines with glass on my beads.... if I'm being honest it got better but not consistent by any means!!!! So that was a it disheartening BUT... the next day... when I thought I should stick to what i know I'm good at... to save up for that kiln!!!! This lovely bead set came out!!!!I am so so proud of this set... I love it!!!! It's so bad though... I want to keep it... hehe. I won't though!!! I need that kiln!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway. I'm in work allllllll day tomorrow but I will try keep updated more than I have been !!!!!!!! TTFN xxx

I did it...look!

I did it... I made one bead in each colour glass I have... I've had so much fun today practicing to perfect a dounut shaped bead, and considering I wasn't measuring each one against the next one I think I've done ok at getting them relatively the same size :-D These beads are for my benefit really, So that I can have a rough guide of the colours I have... and I recorded how each of them melted - yawn... haha!!!!! :-DAfter making these beads I had a play around with a few ideas, heres a Red Heart Pendant with a daisy on the right side.I'm so excited that I can make beads whenever I like now!!!! It's so great, and I look forward to learning different techniques and getting better and better :-) I'm off to bed now... Goodnight xxx

I'm all set up and ready to go...

Hurrah!!! I'm all set up with my bulk propane to make lots and lots and lots and lots of lovely beads!!!! Thats the plan. I am going to make one bead in each colour I have just for reference and to prove to myself that i can be strict with something I really want to learn how to do properly so making a bead in each colour, means I can practice to perfect a round bead! :-D hehe
Anyway, I set it all up about an hour ago now... and I'm not just strong enough to turn the propane gas cylinder on :-( ive managed to turn it a third of the way round using a towel but my hand is red raw so ive taken a break to say Watch This Space... will hopefully have lots of beads to show very soon!!!!!!
Happy Thursday everyone :-D xxx
