Rainbow Drops...

I'm starting to think I could do well out of this lampworking malarkey, I absolutely adore every second behind the torch!!! I made this set this morning along with some other little beads and I am so proud of them. I have named them Rainbow Drops and I need to send them off to be annealing so that I can either make a nice bracelet out of them... or sell them as beads. I am going to be sending all my beads off in the week. So I need to sort out a website... but for the time being, I think I will get them on ebay and etsy!!!! Would love to hear some feedback on this set. I will be posting again tonight with everything I have made today!!! Happy Thursday :-D xxx

I did it...look!

I did it... I made one bead in each colour glass I have... I've had so much fun today practicing to perfect a dounut shaped bead, and considering I wasn't measuring each one against the next one I think I've done ok at getting them relatively the same size :-D These beads are for my benefit really, So that I can have a rough guide of the colours I have... and I recorded how each of them melted - yawn... haha!!!!! :-DAfter making these beads I had a play around with a few ideas, heres a Red Heart Pendant with a daisy on the right side.I'm so excited that I can make beads whenever I like now!!!! It's so great, and I look forward to learning different techniques and getting better and better :-) I'm off to bed now... Goodnight xxx

I'm all set up and ready to go...

Hurrah!!! I'm all set up with my bulk propane to make lots and lots and lots and lots of lovely beads!!!! Thats the plan. I am going to make one bead in each colour I have just for reference and to prove to myself that i can be strict with something I really want to learn how to do properly so making a bead in each colour, means I can practice to perfect a round bead! :-D hehe
Anyway, I set it all up about an hour ago now... and I'm not just strong enough to turn the propane gas cylinder on :-( ive managed to turn it a third of the way round using a towel but my hand is red raw so ive taken a break to say Watch This Space... will hopefully have lots of beads to show very soon!!!!!!
Happy Thursday everyone :-D xxx

Only the best weekend ever!!!

Right well firstly, I want to introduce the wonderful tutors on this amazing course I went on this weekend, Ema Kelly (Left) and Sally Carver (Right).

Held at Diana East's Lampwork Studio (which by the way was amazing!) I learnt a load of basic skills in lampworking along with a few tips and tricks... The time went way too fast! I wanted to camp out there over night to make more beads, and read all the beady books which Diana East had there, not to mention the amount of gorgeous glass she had there for us to look at...
Here's me on a Minor Burner Torch making some beads, here at home I have a hot head torch which is great to learn on as it burns at a slightly lower temperature so why it can feel like it can take forever to make a bead on for the pros... it gives the beginner time to actually think!!!!! I loved the Minor Burner though and look forward to upgrading sometime very soon!!!
Here are some heart beads a made... unfortunatly the ivory one broke as it was the last bead I made and we didn't have time to anneal the beads.... I was very sad!!!Here are the beads I made on the weekend course, and a bigger picture of my fave one!!! it has lots of little bubble in though where I have boiled the clear glass (WOOPS!) but I am getting better each time I try this encased floral idea!!!!
Here we all are!!!Here are a few of the displays that they had laid out for inspiration!!!!

It was such an amazing weekend, my plan is to save up to upgrade from mapp gas to propane as it will pay for its self after a couple of uses, mapp gass makes this extremely addictive hobby a rather too expensive one!!! and then I need a kiln!!!!!! Watch this space!!!!!!! :-D

I just love gettin post, don't you? Well this morning I received something I purchase from Florspace on Etsy... It was my very first Etsy buy and I loved every minute of it :-D It's perfectly made and the material is great... I purchased it to use at work, to keep my tips in! which is obviously exciting in its self, but now so so so so much more exciting because of this amazing purse!!! Florspace is about everything adorable, quirky, unique, indie, classic & most of all, functional. Handmade in Singapore by Lyn. I will definatly be purchasing some more things in the not too distant future!!!!!!
