Sun Rise Jewellery @ Kinky Afro

The other day I set up a couple of displays in a very funky Hair Salon Based in Stretford, Manchester called Kinky Afro. It is run by my Friend Alex's Auntie. So she very kindly helped me set the whole display up which did take a few hours. I was quite blown away when it was all set up so beautifully, to have my jewellery no longer hung up on pins on my living room wall but have it displayed in a gorgeous glass cabinet. I was amazing to see all my little creations displayed together... here are a few pictures of the displays in Kinky Afro...

"Catering for all hair types, staff are experienced and friendly, delivering hair and beauty services second to none, in contemporary and comfortable surroundings. Utilising the latest techniques, equipment and quality products. Specialising in hair/scalp treatments and hair extensions. Now Displaying AND SELLING Sun Rise Jewellery by Vicki White!!!"

4 hours later...

Well i have to say... it did take me a good 4 hours, but I got there, here is a picture of my very first Tiara. I had been searching the web trying to get some inspiration for making my first Tiara and in the end I decided to purchase a book named "Tiaras" by Hana Glover and Robin Bellingham from Mail Order Beads. I purchased it of Spoilt Rotten Beads along with some Silver Plated Alice Band and lots of different sized wires, and I was away!!! I called this Tiara "Blossom Swarovski Tiara" But it was my version of Flower Garden from the Tiara Book. I used diffrent colours swaorovski bicone beads and also made the stems longer...
Think I did alright for my first attemp... there will be lots more where this came from :-)

Finally...

Hi! My name is Vicki White and I make my own handmade designer jewellery. I have been making jewellery for about 6 months now, and I'm absolutely loving it! I want to learn as much as I can about different ways to create beads and jewellery through different medias. I have had a go at lampwork bead making after my wonderful boyfriend Fran bought me a Glass Making Beginners Kit for our 1 year anniversary. As it is a very expensive hobby I am waiting on my birthday (not long now - 5th March) to be able to have a lesson with a lampwork artist to get me started!! Also I have been getting to grips with precious metal clay. I have been using Art Clay Silver and I'm beginning to get to understand the clay a lot better, but same as the glass bead making ... it is a seriously expensive hobby!!! but I'm hooked now, so i just can't live without it!!!! Anyway... basically on here I will be making a record of my discovery into the creation of jewellery, i will be posting photos of all the new item as I'm putting them on my web page and also some behind the scenes of what really goes on in my world of Sun Rise Jewellery.

Peace and Love,

Vicki White, xxxxx
